I meant in the App Manager, most users don't use apt-get.

Well ... I booted into flash, performed update (n810 would
not update from sd). Ran the new initfs_flash to reinstall
bootloader. All seemed to go well.

But now I can boot into flash normally, and I have the
multiboot menu, but if I try to boot to SD, the blue bar
gets half way and the device reboots ...

I guess I must re-clone the system to SD ??

Read the thread. I explained it earlier.

It's really quite simple, nothing at all is being touched on the other partition when you're updating one or the other. The version info is contained on the config partition which is common to all other partitions.

After updating uname still shows:

Are you sure? Both are #2, but the one thaldyron is running is compiled on 16 july 2008.

Your time zone is also CEST, not EEST.

Well, mine is on an N800, so it's unsurprising that it's N800, and that it was built at a different time on a different machine (evidently in a different timezone); but the fact that Thaldyron's is from July rather than something close to September 30th makes it look like his kernel did not get updated...

(Oh, I just realized I have got an updated kernel for rotation -- still, something Septemberish should be correct on either platform, I'd think...)

So I would be correct in that when you update in flash, your not actually updating the packages specifically dealing with the browser, modest, or whatever in SD. Only in flash. And vice versa (if updating the SD, then you would not be updating those components in flash).

True, my point exactly. On the other hand they're all #2. Somebody did something wrong; that version should have been incremented to (at least) #3.

PS: Its just me or not, but when checking out the version I had to boot my tablet and geez... my tablet boots fast.
