What code? The Lock Code? That is bad... You have to take it to Nokia to remove it, or ask the person you bought it from.

Does the Nokia come with a lock code from the factory?

No, the lock code is an optional security measure. It cannot be removed in any way, except by Nokia.

Edit: I am wrong i guess.... I lied, yeah, that's better...

You can "factory reset" the tablet by reflashing it:
https://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_...ing_on_Windows

Once you have reflashed it, everything on the N810 will be deleted and it will not ask for the lock code.

Though if it is not asking you for a code on startup, no point in flashing it I guess.

BUT

The lock code is not changed after reflashing, it is merely turned off. To get the lock code, you have to do this. Thanks to Austin Che for this much simpler method (I used to use the cat /dev/mtd1 method :P).

1. https://wiki.maemo.org/Root_access - Get root access
2. Become root.
3. Run: maemo-mini-curl -o getlockcode http://austinche.name/maemo/getlockcode
4. Run chmod +x ./getlockcode
5. ./getlockcode

After that, you have a newly flashed tablet with the lock code which you can then change or enable.

Really? I thought it was impossible... Whats the point of it, if anyone can steal your device and reflash and resell? I thought it was to deter the bad guys...

In all honesty, if you have a computer running linux and a usb cable, you don't even need to reflash. If I was on the dark side, I could easily disable the lock code prompt that comes when starting up and run that program mentioned above to get the code :/.

That doesnt work if there is a lock code. My friend has an N800 like me and wanted me to reflash it. When I tried to start the reflash process by holding the home and power button with the USB cable in, it asks for the lock code. Luckily my friend was right there to type in the lock code. It booted to the OS. I disabled it in the control panel and I turned off the device and started the process over again and used the software update wizard to reflash the device.
