Hey all, I love how responsive a group this is here!
Most of us like the thumb board instead of the tiny-tiny keyboard.. yes, it's more iphony, but honestly, i can type 2-3x faster on the thumboard.

So here's my question:
How do I NEVER see the tiny keyboard again?

Hint:
http://lists.maemo.org/pipermail/mae...ne/022117.html

but there's only 1 hildon-input-method listed, not "keyboard-method" and "thumboard method" Likely they're 2 sub-features under the hildon method. Are we talking re-code here??

Just dig around in control panel and disable the stylus keyboard. I don't have an n800 in front of me right now but I've set it up that way before so I know it's possible. Probably in the "text input" or similar section.

Wow.. that is so very non-intuitive!

Solution:
Settings>Control Panel>Text Input Settings>"Launch finger keyboard: With finger and stylus"

So you're not disabling the stylus keyboard, you're enabling the thumboard for all the time.

Another question:
Any UI (gtk?) mod/hacks to get the scrollbar wider on all apps?

On another note, I'm trying this:

Of course, the screen rotate worked, but sadly, there's not much integration.. I had the thumbboard launch in portrait mode & only show half of itself

Also, I'm curious if there's any way to get the applications panel on the bottom (only in portrait mode, of course)..

You can drag it to the bottom; then it stays there. I find it more useful on the top, though, and using the stylus keyboard at the bottom of the screen, when in portrait mode.

echo wb. You can do the wide scrollbars modification to any theme though.
