Hi all,
interested in buying one but wanted to know if it's possible to run a swf file outside the browser? -> Thinking of an app programmed in Flash of Flex, not a flash animation or a video. Thank you.

Various media players support flash. Don't know if all support non-video flash, but at least kmplayer does so.

Afair it's possible to write an app to use the built-in helix stuff by creating a thin wrapper of the functions it requires from the browser.

There was talk about this a long time back, might be searchable here or on the mailing lists
