Thanks a lot! but the last two options are out of my range, I am just a beginner so I can go with the first one though it is very inconvenient to wait for something like this
I don't count myself to be a programmer or anything but even I didn't find it hard to load up /usr/lib/browser/plugins/libflashplayer.so in a hex editor and search for the string Shockwave Flash 9.0 and edit the Shockwave Flash 9.0 r48 string to Shockwave Flash 9.0 r99 (the version on my desktop) . Hell, it can't be r666. (Excuse the pun.)
Whoops, you can only replace two numbers so I guess r99 is the best you can get unless you can use entrypoints in ELF files?
And yes, it still says r31 by default. I don't know why but I loaded the latest flash player from the latest ssu off nokia's servers and that is what I found.
^ wrong. I downloaded the wrong file, thanks to fragos below for correcting me.
I've already taken route 2.
This is my email exchange with them:

Following you e-mail and in order to narrow down the issue, I hacked the
device's installed flash player (9.0 r48) to show a fake bigger release
number (9.1 r48) to bypass the veoh page's flash version detection code, and
check if the flash player is able to play veoh videos or not.
So, the result is that I can confirm that flash 9.0.48 supports H264 and can
play veoh videos, and therefore, the veoh flash version check is too
restrictive.
In addition to that test, Adobe's press release about flash player 9 beta
release (see link below), confirms that flash player supports H264 since the
first public beta. http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/pres...ashPlayer.html
It would be nice if you could update the flash check in veoh to just check for
flash player 9.0 instead of flash player 9.0 rXX.
If you need me to perform any test or help you in any way, please let me know.
Kind regards,
Miguel Angel

Note, anything newer than r48 is not currently supported, so complaints about r48 being too old are a separate issue and should not be reported to bugzilla.
While that makes sense, it is disappointing that Nokia's new viNe servicefor the Nseries rejects Flash on the tablets as too old. It wants nothing less than 9.0.115.0.
I hope that with the release of the Maemo 5 device, the tablets will move beyond their token "N" to receive a bit more respect and recognition from the rest of Nokia.
So, finally what is the message guys? Do we have a fix for viewing vieoh and other video sites that ask for latest flash? I am eager to see this fixed so that I can start using my N810 again
Just going by my site, 20% of my visiters have older than Flash 9.0.115. Anyone that develops a site requiring more the oldest version of 9 are doing a dis-service to their viewers. As a professional I can tell you we're always interested in the bleeding edge but refrain from using it until virtually every visiter has it installed. I also wouldn't be surprised if the N8x0s version of Flash would work anyway and the demand for 9.0.115 wasn't necessary.
And now Flash Player 10 is out (although apparently not for maemo). BTW, I complained to FaceBook b/c their videos require a newer Flash Player then my n810 has.
BTW, I just successfully viewed videos (The Daily Show & SNL) at veoh.com, so maybe they changed something? Although the video lags the sound considerably, which is no fun. (As an aside, I have the same problem with hulu.com videos, although not with youtube.com so far.)
