I have Garnet VM and downloaded Palm JVM which contained 2 files one small one (1.prc) and one of 1.6 MB (2.prc).
Did anybody install this and try Opera Mini ?
Before I try this I want to know reports from somebody else.

Thanks

Recently this was answered. I don't think Java works on GarnetVM, so no...

I could not get it to work.

I can't understand... Why would someone want a crippled browser in an emulator? It will be crippled AND slow then...

If you want to use Opera Mini on your tablet, you're going to have to use some kind of emulator.

If you really want to try Opera Mini on the tablet (WHY???) I give some instructions for doing it via Easy Debian and the Java MicroEmulator in this post.

It is just curiosity, as the microb browser is MUCH better .....
But also for running other MIDP apps.

because they can?

iirc, there was someone that stacked some silly number of VM's on top of each other, just for shits and giggles.

In that other thread, somebody said that whenever they tried to install the Palm (IBM) JVM in GVM, it viped whatever was already installed in GVM. So, take a backup of your .gvm before trying that..

hmm, GVM seems somewhat sensitive. there seems to be little prodding needed to get it to wipe itself clean...
