I'm not saying you can't complain, but stepping up and making the changes you think need to be made yourself is probably going to be a more productive route.

Most people here are doing this as a hobby i assume. And so do i. And i prefer so spend this time coding instead doing organizational stuff.
I just saw several "lets find the best software" things in form of "pearls", "killer-apps", "remarkable maemo projects", "freemantle stars" etc. On the other hand i just don't see a single well maintained list of nice, recently updated and overall beautiful apps. I see a discrepancy here and i am still sure that a single such collection might be better than all those different lists, even if there's a reason for having these seperate and slightly different ones. Especially if there's a lack of manpower to maintain such lists.
Having a nice list would be something worth getting your software in. It would be a motivation for developers. Seeing many listings of varying quality and with entries of mixed quality imho doesn't encourage developers to get their software into one of them.

There are exactly two lists that are actually relevant. The Pearls (this is the same thing as "let's find the best software" and "remarkable Maemo projects" . . .) and Fremantle Stars. The first is to highlight cool applications and projects that are fairly polished, and the second is to highlight cool applications and projects that are not polished and would benefit from some Nokia-financed help to become polished.
The "killer apps" page is unrelated. It's simply a bunch of community members throwing around some interesting application ideas.
Each of these lists has a specific, clear purpose.

You seem to disagree on these things. Quim thinks they are selected by some guy named Dave Neary, you think they are the same as the "remarkable maemo projects" page.

I'm going to complain again; I can't actually do anything else about it.. Can someone fix maemo.org so it isn't like swimming through cold molasses to do anything (especially once logged in)? Please? And maybe fix the wiki, too, so there are no more 'crap..' messages...? Is there someone paid to do that?
Dave Neary (maemo.org docsmaster) is who is currently volunteering to push pearls from the remarkable projects wiki page that anybody can edit. Like with many maemo.org tasks, they are open to anybody's participation but there is someone with name and surname who is ultimately responsible of their execution.
Tero Kojo (Nokia employee) is the ultimate responsible of the server performance and is paid to make that happen (among other things).
Both have been more or less reporting about these activities via their blogs, related wiki pages and/or the maemo-community list. If you think they should do better with their work (executing, documenting, reporting...) you can find them in the maemo-community list.

You already said this and it's technically true. But the page itself asks the users not to edit the page directly. That may be the reason for the fact that that part of the page is basically static.
