Hi,

i need to fix the headphone plug and removed the 5 torx-screws, but now i dont know how to continue.
I assume i have to pull off the bottom part where all the connectors are but it wont come off so easy and before i make too many scratches i thought i'd rather ask first.

I have still warranty of course but i couldn't survive the long wait for a replacement

Any hints?

I found great detailed instructions on how to disassemble it here:

well it still wouldn't hurt to resolder the joints since you have it open.

i tend to believe that the contacts inside the jack are too loose but i cant get any hold of them.

Try using a multimeter and poke around inside and on the contacts. If you get infinite resistance, you're probably looking at the jack itself. If you want to replace it, remember it's one of those ones that supports the hands free mic/headphone thing for cell phones.

*Edit - regarding that disassembly link - - nice use of a guitar pick

I asked in 5 electronics shops and none could help me.
Then i went to 2 Nokia Repair Centers, the first couldn't help me but forwarded me to Nr2. There they told me they want to send it in which i refused. Then we argued about why the **** they are unable to order the damn 10cent part for me and they just said they are not AUTHORIZED to hand me the part.

I can't email Nokia because the 770 does not have a Serial-Number that is valid for the email-contact formular (How can you screw this up and why dont they fix it???)

Im ****ing pissed now.
