Two updates about google maps of Israel:

    1. The normal google maps now include street names in English.

    2. The URL of the Hebrew names changed, and is now:
    http://mt.google.com/mt?v=w2.86&hl=iw&x=%d&y=%d&zoom=%d

    hi,
I want to use maemomapper to go hicking, and well since I'm french and that geoportail, from the french national geographic institute , is providing hicking maps I want to use them in maemomapper.
it seems that geoportail use openlayer technology...
is there a way to use them as repositories?

according to some investigation, geoportail stores tiles with the following url scheme :
the upper and lower case have impact.
    http://visu-2d.geoportail.fr/geoweb/mapsUxGM2GGY.jpg
    http://visu-2d.geoportail.fr/geoweb/maps8u6T23KrPmH.jpg

now I have to figure which java script is in charge of creating the url....
    Best Regards,
    JLM

Excuse my gush, but I just love this app and it has made a real positive impact on my life and what I do. Thank you so much to everyone who made it possible. You rock! (I checked back today to find several more repositories to play with and got all excited.)

    Hi guys,

I`m having probs with Google Maps - satellite repository. I`m using default repository that came with mapper (http://kh.google.com/kh?v=999&t=%s) but it just won`t load maps any more (from yesterday). All other repositories are working ok. Can someone confirm please that this repository is working ok?

    Cheers!

google satellite only allows around 5mb of map downloads a day. so you have to wait 24 hours before downloading 5mbs more.

Ah, sad thing, I didn`t know about that. Yahoo sat. maps doesn`t have any limit at all, I downloaded entire area around my city (~2GB) without problems. Too bad I`ll have to wait about a 10 yrs to finish google maps download

Would anyone know how to use the "cloud layer" or "Radar Layer" from the stock google selection, or would it even be possible to include those at all... any help would be appreciated.

What is the meaning behind 'XX maps failed to download'? I have some maps tiles, scanned and cut into 256x256 pixel tiles, in a repo and I am using a .../%d/%d/%d.png structure for the repo. I even have a copy on the SD card using file:///media/mmc1/map/1113A/ etc.
These tiles are visible *when I browse to them!*... but will not 'download' to MM. MM reports 'Processing xx maps" but then fails. The screen remains black whatever I do.
I have tried going to a lat/long within the map tile space but no joy.

    Any help gratefully accepted.

PS. These are nautical map tiles which are apparently greatly desired.
