Personally, I would plug the card into a computer and shrink the Swap partition, its a waste of space. 256MB is good enough. Oh, and 7GB for the OS seems like a lot as well, why so much. Even if you put KDE, etc, into it, it will be smaller than 7GB. Also, Debian Chroot runs from the FAT partition...
lol, I just read that thread after I posted. Still, it IS faster on the computer. No need to reboot the tablet 2 times (assuming you are running on SD), just once.
has anyone experienced performance problems from the os2008 installed in the sd card?
i used penguinbait's install tools package on my n800, but when i use the sd card's os it hangs frequently. any ideas?
ps. penguinbait rocks! thanks for taking on the packaging of these scripts.

Well have you fsck'ed your partition lately? Anytime to boot from SD and you have a crash you should boot to flash and wait for the Linus wav to play, this indicates fsck is complete, then boot back to flash.
You can also see the output from the fsck in /tmp/fsck.txt
ok i've partitioned my 8gb kingston sd card to primari 5gb fat16 and secondary partition 3gb linux ext2 cloned the flash to second partition and it works, but it says that my memory card is corrupted...
i've tried and reformat the fat16 partition but the same..it doesn't seem to see this partition on the cloned os...
and i have no swap...
I made a DEB that will clone the currently running OS to a 2GB CARD. It will also clone it to bigger/smaller cards but its not really setup for that.
Notice if you want to install KDE using the KDE boot from SD deb. http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=19675
On a 2GB card, you need to use a fresh flash. If you install a bunch of apps there will not be enough space to finish KDEv2 installation. However once KDEv2 is installed, there will be about 330MB free.
I have keep trying your install tools deb on a n800 internal 4GB card. Afterwards, the device storage is always 1.68GB which looks like the 2GB configuration above. But it appears that I should get about 3.5GB? Should I instead be using the manual config you refer to at http://tablethacker.com/wp/?p=151&lang=en-us#more-151 to get the right size?
