Hi everybody,

I need to use ghostscript on my N800 for a project that I'm working on. It used to be available for Chinook at http://mango.dia.unisa.it/maemo, but that repository is gone now. I see here
https://garage.maemo.org/extras-assi...er-rebuild.php
that it builds well and could be ready for inclusion in extras, but its not in extras.

I'd be willing to roll my own, but someone else has already done the hard work of trimming the packages of non essentials and docs.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Mark

I've found an email address for Anidel, who used to provide the package in his now defunct repository. Would it be rude of me to email him directly?

sdk repository seems to contain gs-gpl package which is described as

This is the free, basic and standard flavour among several
Ghostscripts available for Debian. If you are not sure which version
you should install, choose this.

Yeah, I tried the SDK version, but it has some pretty crazy dependencies, such as debianutils, and coreutils which conflicts with busybox. I'm pretty sure that that mess isn't meant to go on to the tablet, just a devel platform.

Thanks though,

Mark

Well if you have an SDK, why not just compile ghostscript? It compiles cleanly without issue

Its included in my KDE version, also in CUPS
http://penguinbait.com/CUPS12.tar.bz2

You can perhaps pull out of this what you need. But no easy deb package

I'm going to give this a shameless bump, since Anidel has recently reappeared in the forums after 2 months of silence. He's the dude who already did all of the trimming work for xournal. Maybe he can make that work available....?

Please?
