*this is looks like a few other threads but i have a different question/view*
So I want to view the content I have saved on my iPod Video, only a few files that were too large for my mmc, to watch in VLC or MPlayer. I saw that a few people were wanting to so something similar but hadn't been able to access them.
Using the plugin in host mode and plugging in the ipod to the hub, providing power through an external power supply, and plugging in the main usb from the hub into the tablet the ipod was immediately recognized and file manager booted up and went right to the root of the ipod file system.
I hope i have managed to help someone I hope a few hours of my frustration have benefited you.
I used a powered USB hub, a F/F USB plug gender changer and installed USBControl.
Plug the supplied USB cable to the F/F changer and another cable to the USB hub. Plug the power cable into the hub and the supplied iPod cable to the iPod.
Then set USBControl to USB hosting mode (rightmost tab). Sometimes it issues a message 'file system not supported' but then it shows 'Apple Inc. ....' and the iPod screen shows as if it is connected to a computer.
Then you'll see the root folder of the iPod as an external harddisk.
But to access the music and videos you need a special driver for the iTunes database and as far as I know this is not available for N810, but only for Windows (Winamp) or Linux.

Look in the iPod_Control folder. It's in there - it's just all renamed to coded names.
And, yeah, the tablet is running Linux - so there can certainly be software brought over.
