I just installed this program too and my problem is that I am unable to hotsync. I tried both the host name and the ip address but, I can't connect. Is there a way to connect directly to my palm device and sync the two devices?

    "Failed to launch application (err=0x30040000).

I only use the address book and memo-pad applications, but they are absolutely mission-critical for me. I'm dead in the water without them; will have save them as text and .csv files until I get the GVM going again.
You can change the date on the web tablet (as least in OS2006 on my 770) to fool the old beta into thinking it hasn't expired yet, and then use a Palm FTP client like EZFTP to save your Addressbook and Memopad files to an FTP server.

Then, after you install the new beta and restore the date, you can install EZFTP or whatever client and transfer the data files back.

I did this with a number of applications, including the addressbook, memopad, and calendar, and it seemed to work fine for all of them.

    FWIW...

I also have the error "Failed to launch application (err=0x30040000)." Does anyone know what does it mean? Anway I can resolve the error problem. The error does not happen on all apps. Only on one games I downloaded which it works on my real palms.

Have you set your memory to max? Settings, storage heap, set to 64 Mbytes and then reformat (btw - you'll loose all your installed apps at reformat).

I'm no expert, just a suggestion.

This is very unsettling to me. I use my N800 mostly because of the palm apps, including ereader. Now because of the expiration date, all of those uses are gone. I tried downloading the new version, but ran into the same problem....missing application packages
required for the update!! I really don't like the idea of reformatting everything unless I am sure that will solve the problem.
Any more ideas out there? How could they supply an upgrade that many of us can't use??

I was hoping Garnet on the N800 would make it a good convergence device, but after giving it a good try, I'm back to PIMs on my TX. Access Garnet was just too much work all around. Too difficult to install anything more than a very basic app, too long to launch an app, a kludge to back up and restore. The N800 is great for a number of things, but so far not this.

I agree completely. The Garnet VM is in my opinion a colossal waste of time as it now stands. The fact that there is never any worthwhile communication from the developers makes it difficult to know whether this is someone's part time hobby or a serious attempt to produce a commercial product. I suspect the former.

I haven't flashed to Diablo. Could this be the cause of my failure? Does the new Beta 3 require Diablo?
