it's like a firmware update on your phone, or windows update on the computer. it's a good thing. fewest software bugs, fastest web browsing, plus most of the programmers working on software for the n800 are focusing on compatibility with the latest diablo flash (a.k.a. OS2008 SSU 36-5 or v4.2008.36-5).
