Anyhow, you went thru the whole thing, and put in the discount code, it will come out to be something like UKP20.6 including shipping. But the confirmation email removed the VAT and that brings the whole thing down to UKP16.4 and equals $26. Anyway, I think the biggest problem is the lic does not let you use the US wayfinder. What a bumber . I think it is probably true that is why they have price for Europe North and Europe South, I guess.

Wait, I can't use the US wayfinder, so it's just a bunch of trash if I am in US? Anyway to make it useful with my N810

went through the process on the u.s site, applied the discount (Thanks) and it came up as a total of $29.00. Received an email in and it didn't apply the discount. Total $44.95. Should I be concerned or will the discount apply at some point?

You can use the BT GPS with Maemo Mapper and all maps are free to download. Maemo Mapper has all the features you'd expect from a GPS map application.

I called them up. They said the discount is US$10, not UKP10. This brought the total to US$34, not $29. If you use the UK site, that will be UKP16, about US$26, but it may come with a UK plug.

@fargos: Yes, but the 3 yr turn-to-turn will be only for Europe North, not USA, I am afraid.

I called them, they said I could use it as long as I had US map...
So the problem is the software... so does the wayfinder us and wayfinder Europe are two different pieces of software?

First, who did you call? If you called expansys.com or expansys-usa.com they have no understanding of Wayfinder or Navicore and how the license will work with your internet tablet.

They told me the same thing, that it would work in the US. So I got it, and when it arrived I loaded up my N810's map application and entered in the license key. It worked great except one thing...

It's ONLY for Northern Europe. So when I try to use it for turn-by-turn when I'm in the US a new license box pops up requiring a license for the US. So without a US (or Northern America license) it will not do turn-by-turn.

Second, the map software is the same for a N8x0 that was purchased in Europe or the US. The only difference is the actual maps that are stored on your device.

So if you are strictly buying this kit from expansys for the satnav license in hopes to use it anywhere in the US (or Canada, Southern Europe, etc) then you're wasting your $

If you reside in Northern Europe or plan on traveling to Northern Europe then great... you got a cheap license for your NIT for using in Northern Europe.

The licence appears to be Europe wide (not North or South) as it works fine here in the UK and also In Rome, last weekend.

E-mail and/or phone Wayfinder with your sob story. Perhaps they're willing to make an exception.

I bought my Navicore 2007 license from UK and it worked in Benelux fine. It also works in Germany. I think it works in whole Europe.
