After installing GAIM, did you install the specific protocol that will allow you to use GAIM and MSN IM ? To use MSN IM you will need ' maemo-gaim-protocol-msn '. Each kind of IM has and needs its own protocol to work. You need to download and install these for GAIM to work.

07) and the new 2006OS. I installed gaim (using the application catalog) last night and have launched it about four times. Out of these, the system appeared to be frozen because nothing happened when I clicked on the screen icons. I did have several applications running at the same time, such as the internet radio and web browser. I could not turn the 770 off using the button at the top of the unit. The only way to reset the system was to remove the battery. This happened twice and I resorted to uninstalling gaim. I will have to figure out another way to IM with my MSN friends.
