I can run x11vnc on the NIT and vncviewer from my pc to connect graphically to the NIT from my PC. But here is a very strange quirk or bug:
I can launch the web browser and chat functions from the launcher panel, but the app-launcher is dead. Nothing happens when I click it. The others two open just fine, but not the application launcher. I tried moving it around in the panel, but it doesn't matter where it is - it just won't open. That pretty much defeats the purpose of running it in graphical mode - I could ssh to it and run commends from the terminal, but I specifically wanted to be able to launch some apps while connected through vnc, but no go. Any ideas on what might be preventing the app launcher from working over vnc. It's too bad because I have to say the NIT desktop looks pretty cool in a window on my PC.
Add Personal Menu and the inputs work fine (work around for the Launcher not working)
On my Dell laptop in order to send the command for a carriage return I have to hold FN+SHIFT+RETURN it is a pain but I can't find another way to make 'enter' mean ENTER from my laptop.
