Hi,

Has anyone tried to relace N810's internal sd card? Or would that be possible?

I Googled but nothing helpful found.

Thanks

It is not an internal MMC/SD card. it is a flash rom chip that is soldered to the main board. It just happens to talk with the OMAP using MMC protocol. It is probably a BGA chip, so soldering is out of the question.

Google for samsung movinand. N810 has 2GB eMMC moviNAND chip soldered. You can also search this forum for rx-44 schematics to see where the chip is located (D5200). Maybe it could be removed without destroying the board and sd/mmc pins could be used for soldering microSD card.

No, don't try to remove it. The chip is encoded specifically for the board. Unless you found an identical chip in a larger size with the same encoding, it wouldn't work, and the chances of that are about as good as a snowballs in florida.

Can you explain what you mean by 'encoding' here? IMO there is no such thing.

If I only had one n810 ie. with broken enclosure and screen - or maybe worse I could test this idea of removing internal chip and connecting some microsd card but - unfortunately I won't risk my only device.

If you need more space on your n810 you might want to look at the adapter that allows you to use full size sd cards found here.

I'm using one of these: micro/mini adapter.

The micro cards appear to be cheaper than the minis. And for $1.13 shipped to my door, it's an easy decision.
