Any software available for the n810 that will allow me to take a picture of a barcode (book isbn) and find it's cost on ebay amazon, etc either via online (real time or otherwise) maybe download the media info to a disk and compare lots out there for windows based systems to be used with pda's do not want to spend the cash on another gadget if my n810 can do the same

I'm working on such an app. See the maemo-barcode Garage project (look at the branch here: https://garage.maemo.org/plugins/scm...=maemo-barcode).

I've been learning GTK+ and SQLite as I go along, so progress has been a bit slow (not least because I'm pretty busy at the day job too).

Currently I am tracking down some segfaults with my database code (code which allows you to create tables for various things, e.g. DVDs, books, wishlist). These are just due to my unfamiliarity with the various fns I'm using and are falling out easily.

Barcode scanning works fine for 1D EAN13/UPC barcodes, I still need to write code to do online lookups with the barcode data. If you fancy helping out then that would be great, otherwise I hope to have something half working (with perhaps some very basic lookup data being downloaded by the start of next week)
