its a little thing, but i named it and is bothering me a little too much

For OS2008, under Settings->Control Panel->Bluetooth, you could enter "My device's name" if the "bluetooth on" checkbox is clicked.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for?

when i go to my router's home page, my device say's nokia-n800-23-14.
how do i change the name that's gonna appear on the network?

Edit /etc/hostname to change to the new name, say "N810" and then in /etc/hostname add the line "127.0.1.1 N810" substituting your name for N810 in both cases. To edit these files I suggest you install http://nitapps.com/dists/chinook/use....0.6_armel.deb

i edited the file and yeah, my new name appears now in the network.

what would the seccond line be for? "127.0.1.1 N810"?

It assigns the Hostname N810 to an internal IP address.
