I can use the vnc viewer from nokia n810 to see/access my main desktop. However, I would like to access nokia n810 from my desktop, I tried many things it keeps failing.

I checked these two threads vnc, and vnc easy... with no luck

when I used vnc viewer from my main desktop, I get...
Code:
unable to connect to host: connection refused (10061)
please advise. Thank you.

Oh, by the way I have zonealarm as firewall, I turned it off and I tried it again. I still get the same error.

I don't know if there is a VNC server for the N810,
however to get to see the N810's desktop you'll need to
have a VNC server running on the NIT, and a VNC client on the remote machine.

thanks ray!

solution to the problem x11vnc

the downside... when you launch x11vnc there is not any indication that is running... the only way to find out, you just have to use a vnc viewer from your desktop. And whoala! It works... if it doesnt... that means x11vnc didnt load on NIT

now only if I could figure out a way to import my contacts efficiently from piece of sh***t treo palm desktop to NIT... I will have a happy ending
