Has anyone attempted this? We already have a cool custom remote app, and the n800 has bluetooth......if we had the ps3 blu tooth codes....get where I am going?
I would love to control the PS3 with the nokia. Ultimate remote for ps3.
You can't use it as a controller for PS3 games and such, but if you run Linux on your PS3, you can run the standard Linux remote control applications such as TightVNC.
This would fix one of the biggest problems with the ps3 its lacking to be controlled by a universal remote. Is there a way to make the n800 learn blu tooth code say from a ps3 remote. Also i know they sell a box for the ps3 that will convert ir signals into blu tooth packets but that seems like you wouldnt need that if you had a n8--. side note the iphone might be coming out with a program to control the ps3 just something i read.
Actually this is exactly what I am trying todo right now. There has to be a way to sniff the bluetooth packets sent by the ps3 remote / controller and replay them by using the n800/n810 or any pc with bluetooth for that matter.
If I can't find anything already done, I won't have any other choice than doing it myself.
I will keep you guys updated should I find / accomplish something...
can you pair a regular linux box with the PS/3 and then use sdptool to determine what services it publishes, and hcitool to check the PS3's profile.
then set up the linux box to have the correct name and profiles to pretend to be the ps3, and pair a ps3 remote with it. set up listeners on e.g. rfcomm and watch the ps3 remote send control codes.
once you've got the control codes, you can then emulate the ps3 remote
