No Dice.

I tried it without the space and the command complete properly. If I plug in my headphones and issue loudspeaker_on, i get the subtle static you get from headphone; loudspeaker_off: no sound. Either way, I still don't get any music, key clicks, etc.

No more popcorn popping either.

I advise you to create your own thread. There are glaring differences between our problems, and you get better results in your own thread. Your's is definently a software issue; if worst comes to worst, you could reflash.

OK will reflash creating a thread just for that will make the forum crowded and does not help when someone else have the same issue especially difficult to search thanks though

Well, but you don't have the same issue. You clearly have a software problem, where I may have fried the HW. Your problems are from individual software, where as if mine is a software issue, it at the OS/User Pref level.

I'm going to flash tonight, so if anyone has any ideas, let me know ASAP.

Thanks all for your help.

P.S.: Un27Pee: I'm really not trying to be a jerk. The statement above is almost condescending, but that is not my intent. Best of luck with your issue.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a hardware issue.

I flash my N810 and the speakers still did not work. Hmmm... I wonder what the extent of my warranty is if I bought it new off of ebay?

Thank you all for your help. Hopefully, someone else will get more out of this thread than I did.

So, here's an update.

I spoke with Nokia on the phone, told them that I had already reflashed the device and that it appeared to be a HW issue. They told me to go online and fill out a repair form and ship the product to them.
$15 (urg USPS, said they sold me a tracking number, but didn't) and 5 days later (The online updates are on a one day delay) the device was in a Nokia repair shop. Turns out the device couldn't be fixed (or rather wasn't cost efficient) and they sent me a "new" one. The replacement device was in great condition, perhaps even better as the stand moved more fluidly, but the back panel was scratched. This was hardly noticeable and acceptable as my original had scratches also. I think that it's the same back panel, though, because the scratches are in the same spot. Anyway, I'm just glad I didn't apply a screen protector or I would have lost it when they took the old device.

Anyway, all is good. Thanks for all your help.
