I've installed VNC, but cant get a connection to my VNC-server.

The VNC-Server is installed on my windows-XP-Desktop-PC
When i try to connect from the Desktop to the Desktop the server responds. From the N770 the server is not found.

The desktop is connected directly to my WLAN-DSL_Router the N770 with WLAN, the connection to the Internet works good, i.e. the N770 seems to be connected to the router as expected.

Any ideas what might be the reason for this problem?

I have the same situation and issue as bsterix above.
Installed UltraVNC on my homePC (XP Home) and tested it with the UltraVNC client on my laptop (XP Pro). Works perfectly.
Then tried this VNC Viewer on my 770. Cannot connect to server.
All is via same ADSL box.

I recently acquired the Nokia 770 and not being in the computer field its interesting to experiment. Yesterday I installed the free version of RealVnc and got it to work pretty quick. Total luck! I can only tell you exactly what I did for it to run. I'm running Win XP.
    Install RealVNC.
Allow exceptions for port 5800, 5900 and for winvnc4.exe
(the RealVNC program) under Windows firewall setting.
If you have a router port forward 5800 and 5900
with the ip address that you see when you mouse over
the VNC icon in the taskbar, i.e. 192.168.?.?
At this point apply the Alitalia axiom- "Don't toucha nothin" in the RealVNC settings until you have the thing working. Then go in and add a password for authenication.
I'm sure the experts here will rip me a new one for being so basic but it worked.
Oh and I would suggest you uninstall everything, restart and install again. I did and it worked the second time.

I figured it out; oh, I feel so stupid
With my XP laptop I naturally used the computer name of my homePC to connect to. With the 770 I need to use the ip address, of course (without port).
