Hi pyckage (Martin), I got time to play a lot with Mediabox again )

Since thumbnailing is periodically not working for broken (and not real image) files, I again patched it a bit, so after failing to generate a thumb generation goes on

Rename attached file to .py, the only difference is in load_cb method. It fixes thumbnailing in svn and 0.96.4

Got 1 more question... or not one, but still. Does svn (rev. 740) version has updated code from 0.96.4? I'm asking because when creating thumbs it uses ~/.thumbnails/mediabox and some other things I forgot

Now some stupid questions about svn )))
1. That right-side bar is nice, but some things (I guess, you know 'bout'em) are confusing.
- As It seems to me bar is closing after some timeout, but when I'm scrolling it shouldn't close...
- At the moment item in that widget-bar is not showing it is selected...
- In svn and I guess in 0.96.4 scrollbar in Queue is not showing the right amount of items (e.g. Queue is empty, but scrollbar is drawn like it has elements)... In fact the scrollbar in Queue is from my playlist (first?)
- Sometimes bar loses its content and sometimes closing in the other module (e.g. Images) after being opened in Playlist.
2. What's about renaming Videos > Videos to Videos > Local Videos and etc for Images and so on? I think it's more accurately describes the content.
3. In svn and 0.96.4 folder thumbs (that pack of images with thumb from the folder being the top) are blank for some folders with correctly generated thumbs.
4. In svn UI freezes, when loading folder content (I guess it is because of the dev-state of svn )))
5. What's 'bout using some loading icons for images, videos etc thumbs, while they are loaded (kind of maemo's loading circle).
6. In some older version there was a themed information window saying "Loding" (if I'm not mistaking)... What's about using it for e.g. adding to playlist? It's a kind of eyecandy, but makes GUI a bit more solid )

Well, it seems to me I wrote a lot already, so gonna finish spreading my thoughts about your great app

I really like the progress and enjoy using it

Yes, it closes after some time if you do nothing. But it shouldn't close while scrolling. This side bar is still very buggy.

svn got several speed up optimization and not everything is rendering correctly in the current svn version. These issues will be fixed.
But if 0.96.4 has the same issue with the scrollbar, then I guess, there's really a bug somewhere.

Yup, the svn version is totally bleeding edge at the moment.

I haven't seen the UI freeze with the svn version yet. What did you do to make it freeze?

Do you mean the maemo notification box in the top-right corner. It should appear when adding to playlist.

My bad... 0.96.4 also uses ~/.thumbnails/mediabox for image folders thumbs (that image on the top of the pack), but isn't it better to store it in the way all other thumbs are stored (e.g on external card for me)?

I took a look at 0.96.4 and found the same behaviour, seems to be a bug. I even can scrool empty Queue according to scrollbar

E.g. while folder content is being retrieved and loaded I tap on the up button and it is not responding. On big folders it can become critical (in fact it is for me already 'cause 400+ items in folder and until it all is loaded I can't e.g. move up).

Yep, that one. To my mind it would be better to have themed information popup... And to see it e.g. in the center of the screen. Or may be even make it configurable to choose where to place information popup.

mediabox internet radio plugin is broken and hangs mediabox in an infinite loop with 100% cpu usage.
It works by downloading the shoutcast web page and since a couple of days it has changed.
I have changed the shoutcast module to rely in the xml metadata like most other players (amarok, xmms,etc), so hopefully it will work for the foreseable future.
Unzip and copy the attached file to /usr/lib/mediabox/components/iradio overwriting the original file to update it.

What is the purpose of File.can_keep? To provide a way to rip/save a stream/file?
I'm trying to add shoutcast station saving to favourites, but I don't find a way

PS: I've updated the shoutcast module, see post above.

"File.can_keep = True" instructs MediaBox to display a download button while playing that file. The YouTube plugin uses it, e.g.
If the user presses this button, the keep method of the file's storage device is called, so you'd have to implement that. See the YouTube plugin for how it's done.

Of course the iradio storage device can be written to save the song to favorites with the download button, but I don't think this is what the user would expect. But I don't know of any better way right now. (This reminds me to think about implementing the infrastructure for a bookmark button in MediaBox.)

Thanks for your work on making the iradio plugin work with ShoutCast again. I'll upload a new version of the plugin to maemo-extras with your fix, if you allow it.

I'm having a problem with adding folders to the library. In the library tab i have ../mydocs/.videos , sound and images. And I see the trash can to delete each of those saved folders. But I don't see an add new folder button anywhere. I want to add my removable media card's folders into the library.
