Locks up application manager. Packages don't seem to be there.

It's not April 1 yet, guys.

Also locks up application manager.

Are these not essential repositories?

It's frustrating that non-responding repositories crap out the app manager... http://www.maemo-hackers.org/apt is, unfortunately, a fairly regular culprit. Wouldn't it be better if these non-responding repositories were treated as warnings rather than errors? Granted this is most likely an apt-get issue, but still...

repository.maemo.org and repository.maemo.org/extras, components free and non-free, seem to have been down for weeks. If these are considered essential repositories, what happens to everybody who got a 770 for Christmas ?

I just finished reloading software after reflashing yesterday w/o any problems using the repositories in question. I just refreshed the repositories w/o any problem

Thanks, I guess it's me only. Both these repositories hang the application manager for me. Maybe I'd better reflash.

Maybe check the type of connection you have in the connection manager? Sometimes I get a link local connection which will not allow me to go anywhere on the net but still shows as being connected. I never checked the application manager in those instances but in those cases the app manager wouldn't be able to refresh the repositories.
