First I want to thank everyone who has sent kind wishes as well as those visiting my blog. I truly appreciate it.

Second, I want to apologize for "melting down" a while back. I should never post anything, anywhere when I'm that stressed. That was a mistake.

But I also want to clear up some misconceptions. The first is that contrary to a certain accusation, I am fully capable of separating issues specifically involving me versus the macro stuff. If I couldn't, I'd have never been able to perform my role for Nokia as a data analyst. So when I say I'm conducting a poll to gather feedback on a broad scope and not particular to anything I've done, you can bank on it.

I also want to reply to the allegation I was acting in spite. This is also untrue. The overwhelming driver for me at that point in time was frustration... and continues to be as I search for work (going on 6 months now). FYI, I just somehow blew a perfect opportunity with Nokia Seimens Networks and that doesn't help.

Anyway, I miss the great conversations here but as time goes on and separates me from my employment with Nokia I'm finding that I don't really have anything to contribute regarding the tablets. I have no teasing tidbits nor the time anymore to teach myself the deeper secrets of the product line. Trying to find employment and working on my music is consuming the bulk of my time.

Nokia is apparently going to employ Foxconn to build netbooks in our old factory (Alliance) and I am of course angling for a spot there. If I am so fortunate, maybe I'll be relevant again.

Perhaps I'll pop in from time to time if I have something worth contributing. I hope those visiting my blog will start leaving comments as I value what you have to say. You guys are great.

Thanks.
Good to hear from you, texrat!

Please do keep visiting, Texrat!

You don't need to drop teasing tidbits or know the "deeper secrets" of the product line to participate around here...

maemo/Maemo/maemo.org/Maemo.org/maemo.Org should simply hire you as a paid talkmaster. they have bug-/deb-/doc-/...whatevermasters, they'll need somebody for this forum as well. (in fact, as far as i know, they already announced they'd like to have more forum admins in the future.) and the last months were proof that when you're not taking care of us, this place isn't half as nice as it used to be.

While your taunting was always enjoyable, you've contributed much more here and elsewhere in the Maemo community than just "Hee hee." I hope you realize that and return here as you're able. You need not become a kernel hacker to continue to launch, encourage, and add to discussion. Your intelligence and creativity have been, and still are, appreciated here even more than your mischievous teasing.

Welcome back!

We just need your brand of humour, not hints about Nokia's tablets

Yeah, you were never really any good at that hint-dropping thing anyway. Just come hang out. Texrat is part of the spice of life. But there is one condition, you may not change your avatar.

Good to see you around again, Tex. Your musings on Tabula Crypticum are always interesting and thought-provoking, but it's not the same as plain old banter here, as it were, around the counter :-)

There was definitely a voice missing in here over the past few months. Good to see a Texrat post. The Nokia netbook stuff is interesting I wonder if they are going to just be a 'me too' netbook maker or if they have any interesting innovations to bring to the table. I would hope with their expertise on mobile internet usage they are developing new ideas.
