Cool start. You may want to mention what the point of the game is. I sort of figured it out before downloading based off of comments on the youtube video. So far my closest time to 5 seconds is 4.961. Is the one bar only available right now? What are the plans for the rest of the UI?

Let's to the people the huge challenge of discovering the final goal...
+ the clip is pretty hilarious.
I have no idea how use the rest of the space there. The planes was to have a best out of 5 try rounds (to keep using the '5' theme and to make the game a bit more party friendly) and post the results on twitter in case of record score.
Maybe add some germ poses in relation to the score.

I got even closer with 4.992. In case you didn't notice, the icon for this is the same as the current icon for flipclock. I figured this is a placeholder since this is still really early.

I like the idea of different germ poses based on how close you are. Is the goal to get as close to 5 (above or below) or is like 'The Price is Right' where you have to get as close as possible without going over.

One cool thing I thought of when I read 'germ poses' was to take a snapshot using the n810's camera right after the score is displayed. Get a reaction shot image. Using a low res photo like in liqBase would help with speed and to not crash the tablet.

Yep, Im keeping reusing everything but at least this make me see something moving on the screen before the end of the 1st hour

well, since the point is to tease the germ without make him reach the fell food (...) I would store only the time below 5. (it is a diseducational game...miseducational? uneducational?)

the camera idea is great! I already have the camera code somewhere and if the python will be fast enough seem like this going to be the killer feature!
And should not be too difficult to upload the pic somewhere and put the link on the twitter feed.

I waste an evening trying to use the camera but I wasnt able to take a 'silent' snapshot (without have the camera on the screen ).
No problem for the twit part: I still need to make the config file managment but the application send his twit every 5 try (user 5secondrule_ password 5secondrule_)
Im preparing the 5 or 6 different 'germs' for different scores...

The installation is getting tricky: I used easy for the camera test (and I probably didn't clean up the code before packaging so it still need it) and simplejson for the twitter part.
I will make 'disableblablele' all the extra features and keep all the extra dependencies 'optionable'
Easy Installation

For the simplejson TrueJournals suggest:
Use apt-get. Apparently, simplejson isn't in a user/ section, so doesn't show up in the application manager. Open xterm, gainroot, and:

I tried it 3 times, all 3 times the program crashed after the 5th try (immediately after the 10 click of the centre button)

yes, I can't see any of your try on '5secondrule_' twitter... there is not a lot to check here the game just lunch a twitter library I found around (and I suppose should work...) The user and password now are inside the code (so nothing should go wrong there), my guess there is something wrong with the simplejson lib... Ill try to put more controls there around to let users understand better what is goin on.
If you really want you can launch the app from the terminal with
Code:
5sec
and check what's wrong but don't worry too much about since the twitter think is still pretty primitive anyway...

I'm don't know what any of the code is, so I probably copied more than needed.

Also, when run from Terminal it didn't crash after the 5th attempt. it closed when I switched to view Xterm, but this is the first time I've run something from Xterm, so I don't know if that's normal or not.
