    The version of OpenJava with Easy Debian is quite old. There are many problems with it. There's not much you can do about it, except try using the EasyMer image instead, which is based on Ubuntu Jaunty.

    You need to know how to change the image name in your ~/.chroot file and you need to know how to untar the image...

    thanks very much for your reply, also thanks for your easy debian.

    fist of all, l know the version of Icedtea is old, you suggest using the easymer

    image,but i am a new user of debian, i know how to untar the image ,but i don't

    understand what you mean of changing the image name. Could you give me some

    steps?

    thanks very much !

    Please edit the /home/user/.chroot file. Make sure there is a line something like:

    Code:
    IMGFILE=/path/to/mer-jaunty-v2.img.ext2
    This will make Easy Debian use the Easy Mer image file, instead of the Easy Debian one.

    If you want to grab the Easy Mer/Ubuntu image file, get it here before it is gone on Tuesday night.

    I'm pretty sure I don't have Firefox installed in Easy Ubuntu. I installed the lighter Epiphany browser instead.

    From your Maemo terminal, enter "debbie epiphany-gecko" to run Easy Ubuntu Epiphany browser.
