Hi all

The update on my N810 is not working. The error when trying to install is 'pre-installed-documentation-rx44' not installed.

As a newbie can someone explain how to install this package.

Ri

Hopefully someone will come on here with better info for your problem. But if not, maybe you should re-flash after using the built-in back up for the system and a drag-and-drop backup for everything else. Do you know how to do that? (I take it you haven't done anything too radical yet, like installed Advanced Backlight Status Icon, which screws up updating.)

Is that what screws up updating? So it's not rotation per se? Hm.

If no one more knowledgeable comes to help you, and if you don't want to reflash, you might try the instructions from here (which I needed at one point). They are:

Open X terminal (Utilities > X Terminal)

Enter the follow (hitting return/enter after each line and then waiting for X Terminal to give you a new prompt after processing each line's command):
Code:
/etc/init.d/mce stop
dpkg --configure -a
apt-get -f install
that's two hypens before "configure"

Then try to update again via app manager.

Like I said. Try this as a last resort before having to re-flash if no one else comes to help. It might work. Might.

Got it to work now. I updated it when connected to the pc using the Nokia update software. Works OK now.
Note, I never tried any of the other options.
Thanks for your prompt responses.
