In order to save system storage memory I want to symlink /var/cache and the MicroB cache folder to /media/mmc2 (or 1). Did anybody try this ?

I haven't tried /var/cache but I've symlinked other stuff to mmc (e.g. maemo mapper map dir) without any problems so I don't see why it wouldn't work just fine. Strange things may happen if you unmount the card though.

I have my entire MyDocs symlinked to my external card, and have never had a problem.

Code:
lrwxrwxrwx    1 user     users          18 Nov 12  2008 /home/user/MyDocs -> /media/mmc1/MyDocs
I have the card formatted as ext3 and I never remove it. Removal of the card if you have important directories linked there might be bad. If you have the card formatted as FAT also keep in mind that no file can grow larger than 2M, and that the file names are not case-sensitive. Under ext3 'Makefile' and 'makefile' are two separate files; under FAT they're the same.

A little typo there, I don't think you meant 2M, you probably meant 2G (2GB)

Chelloveck: Dude, I had never even considered that idea. That'll help a lot the next time my device dies and I need to get at the stuff in the mydocs folder.
