So from what I can tell, the two major solutions to IM is Pidgin (Easy to set up, works with almost everything, not that integrated to maemo, has an annoying bug when un-minimizing), and rtcomm (integrated into the built in chat, well integrated into maemom, less versatile).
From what I have tried sofar, getting pidgin setup is easy.
Getting rtcomm setup is not (the installer off of http://rtcomm.garage.maemo.org/ does not work in the version of maemo that came on my device). I managed to get it to work by manually installing pidgin extras and account-plugin-haze after the beta installer failed.
As of yet, I can't get Pidgin to isntall along side rtcomm. It would be super nice to have both installed at the same time so I have the option to run either or both.
Here are my questions:
What is the development status of both projects. Are there ways to get both running on the current version of diablo?
