It's in Perl.

Well, then, theoretically, it should install into Easy Debian with:

Code:
dpkg -i squeezeplay_7.3~5922_all.deb

Stupid question, but how would you do this from within the chroot?

EDIT: Kind of obvious, sorry. Figured it out. Will attempt this later, and then work on the input assignments (explained on their site). Would also love to move the elements around like I have in my concept pictures (guess I need to learn Lua).

If anyone goes ahead and does this, check out the different skins and even post a screenshot if you can.

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong or whether this means i can't dpkg in the debian chroot. I saved the 7.4 version deb to my external and then cd'ed over to it inside the debian chroot then dpkg'ed. This was the output:

Code:
[root@chroot: /media/mmc2]dpkg -i squeezeplay_7.4~5936_all.deb

dpkg: error processing squeezeplay_7.4~5936_all.deb (--install):

cannot access archive: No such file or directory

Errors were encountered while processing:

squeezeplay_7.4~5936_all.deb
Any clue? And thanks again for all the help.

Tried /media/mmc1? mmc2 is the internal card.

You have to download the deb first, and then either cd to the correct directory or give the full path to the deb in the dpkg command line...

Totally had the wrong mmc. Anyways, can you guys give me
some ideas about this:
Code:
[root@chroot: /media/mmc1]dpkg -i squeezeplay_7.4~5936_all.deb
Selecting previously deselected package squeezeplay.
(Reading database ... 44284 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking squeezeplay (from squeezeplay_7.4~5936_all.deb) ...
Setting up squeezeplay (7.4~5936) ...
debconf: unable to initialize frontend: Dialog
debconf: (Dialog frontend requires a screen at least 13 lines tall and 31 columns wide.)
debconf: falling back to frontend: Readline
[root@chroot: /media/mmc1]

Those debconf errors are harmless. Doesn't look like you got any other errors, so I'd say you're good to go.

If you want to test the squeezeplay app in Easy Debian, remember not to try running it as root. You want to start Easy Debian with the "debbie" command, so you get the [user@chroot] prompt.

Cool! Keep us updated!

When I run it as normal user, it says I need to be superuser. Thoughts?

heh. That's ironic. Ok, run it as root, then.
