Once you mention this... I did have exactly the same problem in Windows! (Had to move mouse over the flash video to make it play, otherwise it would stop.) So it is not just a NIT flash problem...

Flash is quite a problematic plugin at least for Firefox - it is responsible for much of its freezing problems.

I find the same thing on my Kubuntu box; Flash in Konqueror + Webkit or KHTML just doesn't work very well. OTOH the same flash content in Firefox works fine.

It probably doesn't after removing libicu in favor of libidn. But that's 40MB that not everyone wishes to install.

anyone find the same thing?

I just downgraded to the version you suggested and yes, the videos now play perfectly but pages take longer to load once again. Atleast woot and youtube took a while but maybe the application manager wasdoing something once I had connected to wifi.

I'll try upgrading again to see if my youtube videos stops playing normally.

Regarding youtube, why even bother using a browser to search and view videos when we have several youtube browsers out...the best of which is Digia@scene. With it, you have full account control...subscriptions, and upload abilities.

Good point. I personally do not enjoy how slow the NIT is and opening up a second or possibly third program just to have a complete web experience drives me nuts.. Using tear is mostly good enough for me to just stay in one place. Plus, many flash videos are embedded in a website and not easily found when searching youtube.

As far as re-upgrading back to webkit 1.0-svn41137-9 has brought the speed back to Tear but flash is again messed up as described in the first and other posts. Downgrading a second time allows the Flash to play normally but then the pages take an unusually long time to load sometimes in excess of 20-30 seconds.

That's due to the cookie bug.

So, as I understand it, if I have a pressing need for realtime flash display plus webkit, we have a couple of solutions.

1. Find a workaround for the cookies time delay with the previous version of webkit.
2. Wait for a new ARMEL build with improved flash support.

Is there any more immediate solution we could reach from a development perspective?
