I have (re)discovered that the 810 e-mail client does not really delete e-mail. For purposes of both security and memory conservation, I would like to purge old messages from my 810. Can anyone advise me on best way to proceed here?

delete anything found under /home/user/.modest/cache/mail/pop/account-name/cache

optionally replace pop with imap...

hi tso, could you please explain to a complete newbie how to do that? also, i'm already using google email with imap. does your last comment still apply?

i would say so, yes...

but your best option may be to install emelfm2 and have a look for yourself...
