Youre welcome...odds are it wont be working by tomorrow lol. Does anyone know who the pidgin for maemo developers are and if theyre working on an update to fix this issue?

It really hasn't been updated in some time. Most of the newer tickets that were made went unanswered. I think they gave up. :/

I dont understand why...its one of the must have applications....right up there with maemo mapper, and canola.

Yes, but any developers can lost interest in one product and start/continue another. I'm hoping some can get the code and continue on it, or that the developers last working on it come back and continue. All we can really do is wait.

EDIT: @Den, and yet, Skype's last update was last released much longer ago IIRC.

I'm willing to pay $20 for someone to actually pick up the Pidgin project and update it to the newest version.

DO NOT delete anything that the system has in place if you don't know what it is. It's fair warning, trust me.

Also, just change the Pager Server (in Pidgin) for Yahoo! by just adding cn. at the front of it since it's defaulted to "scs.msg.yahoo.com". No need to edit the hosts file.

ok now I got u. I made a confusion. there are different posts talking about this problem. In my case I'm using RTCOMM I don't have the possibility to edit the yahoo server. thank u a lot.
