Hi,

i have the Nokia N770 and the new N800 - And i have a Google Email - Talk Account - On my PC and Laptop (over the same D-Link router) Google Talk it runs perfect. The connect is wlan or umts

On my Nokia N770 - N800 it does not run

Error: "Connection with an or several account not possible"
my question:

1) what is the right STUN server and STUN port ?

2) other setup required ?

Thanks in advance

Fidibus

Gizmo is running on both equipment

BTW: I never used GTalk for VoIP, only for instant messaging - mostly because I don't know people who use any kind of VoIP (strange, isn't it? not even Skype has reached my folks).

Anyway, I'd like to know if my setup would work at all, given that my router made it very difficult for me to set up a working SIP-account on my desktop PC. (And for those who wonder know: SIP gives me full interoperability with regular phone numbers, meaning a can call my mother's landline phone and receive calls from her.)

I remember that with SIP there were some echo-test-applications I could call so I could comfortably try various settings. Is there something like this for GTalk, too?

You might take a look at: www.gtalk2voip.com

I have used that service to make VoIP calls from 770 to regular phones. On the other way there is (was?) issues with calls getting connected? It appear that a new call sends first an invitation to Gtalk client that needs to be accepted, before the call can be picked up... But I have heard that some folks have this working fine... Could be also router (NAT) issues...

Seems I'd have to register and pay for this - again.
I already have 2 working SIP-accounts I pay for, I don't want to open yet another VoIP-account right now. But thanks for the link, maybe later I'll change my mind

Hi,

thanks for your answer for the Google VoIP calls

Is your Google IM Chat running on the N800 and you have testing it with a colleague ?

Thanks in advance

If I recall correctly you get some free credit at the time of sign up? You can use that to make test calls before you shell out cash...

I'm not sure if this is answered elswhere, but I was wondering too if there is an alternate setup for the STUN server that would work though port 80?

My issue is my n810 works great at home on my home wifi. However, when I come to work, the public Wifi is excellent for Web browsing, but they have it locked down for basically anything else.

That means, my Google Talk account is not connecting at work. I suspect they have blocked port 3478.

Any ideas on how to make this work while at work? It's very useful for staying in touch.
