Ok, Ok, i know it's mayme a stupid request and (in terms) a good way to waste the N8x0 resources but... a request is a request.

ah! i'm a total noob in linux... that makes things harder... sorry

Let me explain the backstory of the request:
I used to have an (kinda big) mp4 player. since it has big (and fairly resistant to press) buttons and no touch screen at all, i just filled it with mp3, kept it on my pocket and let the musics playing. when i wanted to change the music i just pressed the "foward" button. as i said, the buttons were big, so i didn't even have to put my hand inside the pocket to change music, i just pressed it from outside the pocket (some people just think it's strange see a 18-year boy poking the left Thigh... "a femur problem maybe"? )

well... N800 have media player capabilities, and witha a good SD card, a lot of space for mp3. plus, i have pockets big enough to carry it around. the only problem is the touch screen: it's hard to deal with a touch screen inside the pocket and depending of the move, it could activate the touch screen accidentally (who walks in crowded places understand it very well)

BUT the side buttons can still be used without problem in some players... well... with ONE problem: the touch screen. Of course i can block the touch screen, but when i do it i block the buttons too i could also open a blank browser page in fullscreen, but sometimes i used to pull half of my old mp4 player to check the music name or the progress bar... with a "full blank page" it wouldn't work.

i've looked in every gronmayer repositories (on a side note, they're a little outdated... is there another repositories site around?) and i -THINK- there's nothing like what i need there...

So, i would ask if someone could develop a simple and transparent "screen blocker" (maybe you could name it "crystal guard" just kidding) that could be disabled in a similar way of the "device block" (off button + center button) or you could even use a similar procedure with the touch screen (2 or 3 sequential "clicks" in different areas... accident proof i think)

well, it's just a request... can anyone do it?

That should be possible with PowerLaunch, iirc, but I never got around to playing with that. Explaining how to do that is beyond the scope of a single post, though, so if you're feeling adventurous, check out the docs at http://powerlaunch.garage.maemo.org/
