when it boots up do you see a menu?

Unfortunately if it is stuck in the reboot loop, you will probably need to reflash the device.

Go to nokia support site and install the flash tool

http://www.nokiausa.com/get-support-...oftware-update

If you have not backed up your data, this will delete it. It is possible that the clone is OK, but the bootmenu did not install properly. After reflashing, run pb and try just installing the bootmenu again. This MAY allow you to boot to the cloned partition with your data.

Hope this makes sense?, this is the cliff notes version, I have 6 people to get ready for a wedding and I have to leave in 1 hour. The wife is not looking happy

hehe

good luck,

I had same problem a few weeks ago. Do the following:

Remove the battery.
Reinstall the battery.
Have a Windows PC ready (or a VMware session with Windows under Linux or Mac) with the Nokia reflash software installed.
Have a Micro USB cable ready (e.g. the one provided with the N810).
Attach the power cable to the device.
Attach the USB cable to the PC and device.
Press and hold the upper key of the two keys left of the display.
Turn the device on.
Now you see the NOKIA logo and the device will boot. Holding the key mentioned earlier prevents boot cycle.
When the device is booted and the display content does not change, start the reflash. This will take aout 20 minutes.

Then all default settings are restored and you can customize the device to your needs.

This worked for me.

During normaluse, backup at least when you do inportant changes to the device.

Nope, penguinbait is who we all want to be like when we grow up.

1. Take the battery out and leave out for a good 20 minutes or more.

2. Reinstall the battery and plug in the charger and leave if off for a good 2 or 3 hours.

3. Power-up and follow PB's instructions.

4. While you wait, read this board for other responses. It is the week-end, on a warm summer day, and it's meal time in the EST amd GMT time zones. Sorry if 38 minutes is to long to wait before deciding to break bad... Or feel free to try another forum.

...pfffff

I had the same problem. I am sure I messed up the configeration file, while editing it. I ended up sending my tablet to nokia. they returned it in a few days. since I'm on vacation and haven't seen it since it was returned, I cant comment on the results

Ok which of the instructions have you followed so far?

Are you using a non-genuine battery? (these tend to not boot if drained completely). Pull the battery like has been suggested.

Did you download the image to flash with via http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N810.php (don't bother letting the wizard try to download the file itself, just point it to the location of the image you download) ?

Plug the mini-sd card you cloned to into a computer (with appropriate adapter) and check the contents (computer should be running Linux to read primary ext3 partition -- if Windows is only option try ext2fs)

BTW if the N810 keeps powering off while the wizard is waiting for the usb flash signal (marked by the usb icon that appears on the N810 at the NOKIA boot screen), then just keep trying until the wizard recognizes it and you see the icon.

If you have digital camera (preferably video) post what the device is doing.

The more information you provide (in detail) and list what you have tried to resolve the problem thus far and perhaps someone on this forum can be of assistance.
