When I saw VLC Player for Zaurus, then started searching for 770 or N800. Any one has any idea if it exists?

    Thanks.

There's no vlc player just yet. I was going to port it to Maemo, but have been too busy lately on getting another app done to do so. If no one else takes up the project by the time quick.launch is completed, I'll gladly work on getting vlc work started.

http://n770galaxy.blogspot.com/ has some work on the subject.

Why, particularly, VLC? Where does MPlayer fall short? (I've got my own answers, but I'm interested in others.)

I believe VLC supports many more codecs than Mplayer. It also has excellent support for on the fly transcoding/streaming of DVDs and other video sources.

VLC would be great. My cable TV box streams to it over the web and I'd love to view it on my N800
