Is the swap or virtual memory enabled? When apps use up all the memory it can crash the system. You should enable swap or virtual memory in the control panel if you have not already.
Swapping is enabled and the problem occurs even 1 minute after a fresh (deliberate) reboot.
Nowadays this is a common known issue with a Nokia N810 tablet. I encountered it 5 months ago - sometimes it restarted 1-3 times a day, sometimes 1-2 times a week, and sometimes worked pretty well without this problem. I reflashed it several times - it worked week or more without problem, I didn't install another applications, but in spite of this the issue came again.((((( There is a Bugzilla post with a known issue called BUG 3415 / you can visit it too - here is the link: https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3415

I read this report, but the symptoms do not appear on my tablet. After a standby it works normally after shifting the unlock key. Everything works normally and then .... it freezes a few seconds and reboots itself. This takes place a few times per week.
........................and seems to happen A LOT less when a terminal is opened with something like `while [ 1 == 1 ]; do sleep 1; done` running.
That really works!!!!)) I tried this method and there wasn't any reboot of my
device. It's supposed to reboot itself for 3-4 times - but my Nokia is still
working properly! Maybe it's some kind of salvation of the problem!

I made the steps described in the last bugs post (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3415) and nowadays N810 works without any problems! Maybe it will come back soon - but now everything is just perfect. You can try this simple way too, if you are still encounter this problem.
