The cases for the Nintendo DS Lite fit the Nokia N00, although some of the inserts in the case may have to be removed. I bought the following case, and it works very well:
The back of the case has a mesh pocket that can hold an extra battery.

Thanks for the tip. I picked up a navy blue one at Best buy today for ~ $10.00. I did have to take out the plastic insert. I will use this until officlal N800 cases become available.
I went to Fry's to get the linked DS case above, but ended up getting a blue version of the one below instead, also for $10. It's a tight fit, and it might be a little thicker, but it's stiffer and I liked the inside pocket.
I guess it's only a matter of time until Proporta (http://www.proporta.com) picks the N800 up. They have a solid leather case with screen protection specially for the 770, so I suppose one for the 800 will follow soon.
I couldn't locate the case you mean. The only cases for the 770 looked to be generic and not fitted specially to it.
can't find the thread where someone suggested the beautifully blindingly obvious solution - you put the 800 "sunglasses case" inside the 700 "sock" and voila! it actually works, tight at the top to stop slippage and pretty much padded enough to prevent mild pocket knocks and scratches.
Why on earth didn't nokia even just do this simple thing? would have saved me having a battle-scarred chipped casing on a three week old device...
definitely the solution for me - I can't stand the idea of make small mobile devices bulky, belt held things wraped in leather
I want the n800 because of the faster processor and more system memory and all the other hardware updates.. not to mention that, just as an unfortunate side effect of new tech most of the development will procede for the n800 and slow for the 770. However the lack of a good case for it, is very distrubing.
