So there are two manufacturing plants? I wonder what the odds are of getting one from Nokia. I called them and received an RMA and did want to replace it. After I described exactly what I did to replicate the problem and the procedure of flashing the drive, default configurations, etc... they just wanted to RMA it. We will see about this replacement. I wonder if anyone else has 'Korea' as the location of assembly.

You may also install ssh, then you will be able to either open terminal on N800 and run dmesg command from there or login via ssh from your computer (you'll need a client installed on OS X too) and do the same remotely, with the added convenience of being able to use keyboard, cut and paste output to your Mac computer, etc. I am not going to spend my time on this, but will be interested to see the results if you will.
I will look into this. I have (by default) shell access to the Mac (Terminal under the ulitities folder) so I should be able to proform the required setup. I will do this soon.

you may be running out of memory. Addd "exit 0", or move the script somewhere, and reboot. Verify metalayer-crawler is not running, see if your problem is solved?

GOOd luck!!

Thanks for the tip. I am interested in this, as I have a replacement coming and IF the device does the same thing... I will have to see if this works. I wonder about the other users who have not had problems with browsing and using the media player. At first I thought this was due to the router, but after trying different connections and still the same results... well, I just hope it was a lemon and won't affect the new device..

What seems to be needed is an app. to visibly monitor the memory usage.. that would quickly tell if there's a memory leak somewhere. The descriptions about reboots are consistent with the unit running out of memory.
