It says "incompatible application package" What does that means?

    Hello piyush,

I also have an N810. A simpler step would be to purchase a Micro USB Host OTG cable. You can purchase one on Ebay for around $8 (US currency). With this cable I don't think it's necessary to install USB Control (someone please correct me if I am wrong). All I do is plug in the cable and then the device (usually a flash drive). I'll get a device not supported message, but when checking the file manager, the device is listed and files can be accessed. I will note that not all flash drives will be recognized and I had no problems with the hard drive I attached to it (haven't tried a keyboard).
I can't tell you why Usb Control wouldn't install. Somebody else will have to take care of that. Hope this helps.

Just had the same thing happen to me. I did get it to install by installing through the N810's application manager. Did you install by going to the maemo site's downloads section? Try using the application manager through the settings tab from the N810 and go to "browse installable applications," select all, and scroll down to usb control.

BUT the problem I now have is that I've successfully installed the program, but absolutely nothing happens when I open the program..... See if you get the same results and let me know....

The shipping costs almost double the cost of the product!

This is what I bought. $2 shipped. Just plug it into the USB cable that came with the N810. Now if I can only get USBControl to work....

the low price is nice but, I personally, was just trying to cut out all the wires and just throw an adapter on the end of the usb i already have and call it a day, instead of the > usb to > adapter > to the n810's usb.

Thanks, ukki! That works great, and addresses future things I will likely try (like USB wired internet).

For the rest of you, I too had this same problem with USB Control -- it simply will no longer run/start. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and it still will not run. I reset my N810 between uninstall/reinstall as well as after the reinstall. Still will not start. I tap on the icon and nothing. I check for the processes running via the Load Applet app and I do not see USB Control or anything that could actually be it running under an alternative name.

This happened out of the blue and all of a sudden. I've been using USB Control without issue since I got my N810 in mid-June 2009. I've been using memory sticks, card readers, etc., without issue. Now...nothing. I did do the usual thing for new N810 owners -- tried just about every piece of software that I could get my hands on, but after figuring out what I wanted to run on my N810 all the time, I reflashed it and loaded just those very few apps, including USB Control. It worked fine just a couple of days ago, and I've installed nothing since (until the usb-otg-plugin just now).

    Oh, well.

I just installed this but it does not start when you run it from the Extras menu on the 810.
