Hello all,

Apologies if this has been posted before, but my various searches on the forum and on Bugzilla turned up nothing.

So for the last few weeks I keep getting alerts that updates are available for my installed applications, but when I go to perform the updates, I notice it's trying to update the programs with identical versions of themselves. You can see the attached screenshots for a better idea of what I mean. If I continue, it "updates" every one of them successfully (save Maemo Recorder, which always fails) and goes away, until about a week later, when it tells me it's time to update them again, again with the same versions.

Has anyone else encountered anything like this?

Cheers,
Joe

Is it the case that you enable or disable the extras-devel each time before you get those 'updates'?

I haven't made any changes to the repositories in a very long time, but extras-devel is enabled. Should it be disabled?

If you don't know, then it should be disabled. Alse check that there isn't any chinook repositories enabled

Alright, I'll be sure to disable extra-devel, but are you sure I should disable all chinook repositories, even those without diablo alternatives? I'm a bit confused, aren't chinook releases compatible with diablo?

In my experience having both diablo and chinook extras repositories enabled will confuse application manager. If you need something from chinook, you could temporarily enable chinook extras.

Oh, I see, you're referring mainly to the extras repositories, but not necessarily 3rd party repositories? At any rate, I'll give it a shot, thanks.

Though, I still think it's a bit strange that this problem only started recently, despite having this setup for quite some time.

I recently had encountered this problem as well, until I reflashed. After that, I didn't see the problem reappear (but it should be taken into consideration that I may not have the same repositories now as I did pre-flash).

I don't know what caused it, and I know a reflash may not be an option for you, so I guess we'll just wait until someone who knows a little more about what they're doing encounters this problem.
