Just saw this USB charging cable on Ebay and wanted to know if anyone has any experience with it. I figure the overcharge protection circuit should be built into the tablet and not the charger so it should be a safe purchase... Also, what is the size of the charger tip? 2.5mm or 3.5mm?

IMHO to many parts to keep track of. The N810 uses the power connector, I'd say smaller than 2.5mm. I did purchase a USB to Nokia charger cable that has a reel in the center making it easier to carry and yes it worked. Here's the one I have. It say N90 but it's the same for the N810.

Oy, stay away from charging cables like that. I smell a rat honestly. If you want an all in one usb charging system, there's some good, mainstream, reputable sellers out there that'd be better to buy from. But IMPE OEM in most cases is best.

On my N800, assuming that is the same as for N810, I use the type that comes up with an ebay search [USB Charger Cable for Nokia N95].

I find that both the retractable and plain cable work fine.

I like to charge spare batteries externally and use this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=370197004859

It comes with a USB cable included. Does the N800 and N810 share the same battery? If not then get the appropriate charger to suit.

I swear by the 5 in one AC USB charger from Brando:-
http://shop.brando.com/prod_detail.php?prod_id=03241

This charges my N800, N800 external charger, Sansa Clip, iRiver H140, iBasso D10 amp, Fiio E5 and more.

Hope this helps.

Yes I use this exact nokia tip=>usb charger.
I don't like it, because it is unreliable. The retracting broke and I have to play with it sometimes to get it to charge. More difficult if the N810 is off when I use this to charge, because it doesn't like to send the charge signal. -_- Anyone have a good, reliable nokia tip=>usb charger.

I have this BP-4L external charger for my N810. Picked up a cheap chinese knock-off BP-4L to swap with (half the capacity, but heh), so I charge one battery and use the other. It also has a female usb plug so I use it to charge both batteries (one in charger, one in device, in combination with the first item)

So I guess the N800 and N810 use different batteries.

I don't trust those 5V=>6V converters, seems like they would fry things.

My friend has fried two harddrives in front of me by supplying too much power (y-cable).

The compact usb charger looks nifty though, bought a genuine Nokia one that looked like that as a gift. It was like $10 or $15, that dx price isn't bad.

Meh, dealextreme. They take a full 7 days to ship my orders and it's 2-3 weeks to arrive after that. Also they have a bad habit of not listing an item as back-ordered (and not saying anything until they get it back in stock; but they aren't the worst -_-).

Cheap, yes. But I try to go elsewhere unless I can't find an item somewhere else or if they are way cheaper than everywhere else. And yes I know they are based in China, I don't just have that problem with other Chinese vendors. Heh, one time Fujitsu took over 6 weeks to ship a laptop to me -_-

Yes it takes time and not everything DX sell is exactly perfect but I've not had any problem with these adapters. I use ( bought 3 of each ) them for both my N82 and N800 with no problem at all.

The Nokia AC charger is labeled 5v 890mA. It does a good job and I'd be concerned about exceeding those specs. Doing so could shorten the life of digital electronics and clearly isn't recommended by Nokia. As a point of reference I also have a Chinese battery charger for for the BP4L batteries. It does a good job with a charge of 4.2v 350mA.

The batteries could be properly charged with 4.2V?
