What if the content was a mashup of what you see in the world around you, and a layer above that as a command-menu?
That's the only thing I could think of right now that fits Nokia's thinking lately, and how doing such a thing would be quite innovative.
Plus, Ovi Maps has had a 3D mode for sometime now. A nearly 3D OS makes a lot of sense.

There was a conscious effort to highlight the 'improvements' of s60 in the fire of all the recent criticism and seemingly to minimize the real significance of the n900 as well as the massive improvement in 'mainstream' usability from maemo 4 to maemo 5.
