THEN it will a shame they did not put us in the SELECTED countries... damn... about buying from EU? wont it be an issue in warranty, keyboard layout, and frequency?

Both Versions should work in Australia unless your with Telstra.

All the other carriers are 900Mhz and 2100Mhz

I think id go with the EU version as it doesn't have the 850Mhz GSM like the US version has. I'm not expert would be good to hear from people who know about these things. I've looked it up and thats what I can figure so far.

Comparing the product specs on UK and USA sites, it appears they support the same frequencies. Is this correct? Do you remember where it said that the EU version doesn't support 850MHz?

So my guess is that Telstra's NextG (850MHz) will work.

I wish we didn't always get the short end. I wanted to pre-order, that's how excited I was about the device, I even added it to my cart, from the us store, and boom. Not possible.

The US version supports 3G on 850Mhz but I think NextG is more than just a frequency change. I could be wrong any NextGers from Australia want to correct?

the EU version supports 900Mhz on 3G instead.

Well, I am seeing (from Nokia sites) that all the US, UK and even the France versions supporting the same frequencies, i.e., 900/1700/2100.

Am I missing something about this 850 thing? I don't remember it seeing anywhere w.r.t 3G.

Still nothing from nokia.si... infact the response I got from them was an english: It will launch october 1st in select markets.

I mean... c'mon. Hopefully the Cellco will be better at answering if they are planing on getting it or subsidizing it even.
