The N800 has hardware 3D acceleration in the form of a PowerVR MBX
(http://www.imgtec.com/PowerVR/Produc.../MBX/index.asp) integrated into the OMAP 2420 processor.
It has the hardware to support better graphics than any PDA but without a usable control system for games it is not very useful (for gaming).
Hopefully if a USB host function can be modded without being too bulky peripheral controllers may be able to make up for the N800s integrated controls (This is only based upon what I have read, I do not own a 770 or an N800 as they are unfortunately not available where I live).
