I went to the download page for the 2008 HE OS and I enter my 12 digit number and it says re-enter the 12 digit number and I did and nothing changes. I notice when I did a 770 it had 13 digits for some reason. Can someone help me get around this?? Let me know. Thanks!
The Hacker Edition? That's for the 770 only, so an N800 product id won't work, and even if it did the firmware image wouldn't work on your N800. Go to http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/nokia_N800.php instead and get the official OS 2008 (5.2008.43-7 is currently the latest).

It's always been 12 hex digits (the "product id" is actually the WLAN MAC address).
